A/N:: Alright I am on my way to the therapist office and I have a story in mind. I will see if I can type this up faster then it takes to see her but hell if not I can always continue on the way home and or dinner if we go out to eat. God knows I deserve some good food… Anyways this is going to be fluff, pure and simple. I know it will be lol I got it all planned. I am not sure if it is funny but that warning of no food and drink keeps up. Same as with grammar and spelling… Now for the story.. REAAAAD!
---
The moon was rising over the clouds this hazy afternoon. Spring had just begun but it already felt like the beginning of summer. For one man that was in a way a relief, it meant less cold, but it also meant another issue would come up… Not that he was complaining about something so simple… He had other problems. Right now he had a week deadline to give his answers to this letter… All the heads had gotten together and decided to make some new laws… They however needed to vote to make sure everyone agreed. That was his dilemma how the hell was he suppose to give good answers without pissing someone off? Normally he would just sign his name but… This was less simple. It wanted his signature, his answer, and then an answer…
Innocence who had been told not to disturb Damon by both himself and Rhys was currently sitting outside the office door with a frown on her face. Normally she would be happy to wait for him but… She had been sitting out here for not four hours but four nights… Whatever was going on was serious to keep Damon from leaving the room once… It was worrying her slightly not that she could do anything. She was told to stay out… That was until she noticed Rhys walk by rubbing his head. “Um Rhys can I-” Before she could answer he bent forward and glared at her before calming down slightly. “Yes, do it already. He is driving me crazy!”
Innocence nodded slowly with surprise at his sudden outburst. Getting help to stand up she brushed herself off and stretched. She then looked over her shoulder and noticed Rhys pausing before nodding. He had a tired look on his face, it seemed he had not gotten any sleep either… Grabbing the door knob she twisted it before peeking her head in the room. She saw Damon leaning against on of his hands while sitting at his desk. A dead tired look on his face. She then felt a hand on her back which pushed her into the door. She glared over her shoulder but before she could sent Rhys the glare the door was slammed close loud enough to startle Damon.
“… What did I say about coming in here?” Innocence who was sitting on the floor where she fell pouted, “Not to come in unless you came out but… It has been four nights and I was getting worried…” Damon sighed and raked his fingers through his hair. “I apologize… I did not mean to snap…” Innocence stood up and moused her way over to his side before resting her chin on his shoulder. “Do you need some help?” Damon sighed and shook his head, “No… I am fine.” Innocence pulled her chin from his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his temple softly before sighing. She wanted to help but he obviously did not want it…
Damon sighed again before leaning forward and resting his head in his arms. He was tired and he wanted to go to sleep… He was obviously overreacting but what happens if he was right? Innocence watching him looked worried again before getting an idea. “When is the deadline?” Damon lifting his head grumbled lightly before answering, “Well if it really has been four nights then I have three more before my letter is not acceptable…” Innocence nodded slowly before smiling, “Well that means you have two nights to relax before being able to have a clear enough mind right?” Damon sighed and shook his head, “Wrong… I need to have it mailed by tomorrow night before the stiff who needs it leaves…”
Innocence gave a confused look, “Then why is the deadline a day after he leaves?” Damon shrugged, “Because he likes to give others false hope? I am not sure but I am going to be screwed either way…” Innocence nodded her head slowly in understanding before releasing her embrace and placing her hands on his shoulders. “Well still, you are getting some sleep… If you do not go to sleep you will end up doing something stupid like falling asleep on your letter and getting ink on your face… Get up and go to sleep.” Damon looked over his shoulder with a pout, “But…” Innocence letting go of one of his shoulders used it to point to the door, “Now!” When he did not answer she used her hand on his shoulder to pinch it lightly. Whining in mock pain he stood up and shuffled to the door.
Innocence had followed after him and when he paused at the door she gently pushed him out of it before using her foot to lightly push him on his ass. “Go! Before I have to bash you over the head and drag you!”Damon trying to fight off a small smile started down the hallway. He needed to do his work but he did need sleep… He looked behind him and noticed Innocence was not following. With a slightly paranoid look he started back to the room. Just as he reached the door Innocence dashed out of the office with a book in her hand. He went to bend forward and look at it but it ended up smacking him lightly on the head. “Bed! Now!” He wanted to complain but Innocence grabbed him by his ear and with him whining about his ear dragged him to his bedroom.
Reaching the room she kept a hold on his ear until she forced him to sit on the bed. She then walked back and closed the door. Placing the book on her side of the bed she sat on the bed and looked at him. He was staring at the door while sitting. Sighing and then grumbling lightly under her breath she wrapped her arm around his neck again and rested her chin on her arm. “Damon… Relax pleeeeease…” Damon sighed before shifting so his back was resting against the bed but his eyes were still open. Innocence rolling her eyes leaned forward and kissed both of his eyes. “Close your eyes… You are not sleeping…” She could tell he was going to argue again and simply moved down slightly and kissed his lips softly.
“No arguing go to sleep…” Locking eyes with him for a good five minutes he sighed and gave in, “Fine… But you have to wake me up early so I can finish that damn letter…” Innocence smiled at him finally giving in and nodded quickly. Damon then wrapped his arms around her before burying his face in her neck. Giggling softly she waited to hear his breathing even out but it never happened. It seemed he was still not falling asleep. Either because he was to wired or because he was hoping she would fall asleep first… Idiot… Taking her hand she placed it on his head and glided her finger through his hair softly. She had ideas to help him fall asleep and she would win this… He needed sleep.
When she heard his breathing finally even out she carefully leaned over and grabbed the book. Opening the book she opened it to the page that the letter, extra paper, and quill was hiding. She then reached into her chest wraps. She then opened the jar of ink carefully. Placing everything out she used the book to keep her writing neat. The first question was What is your opinion on the gypsy: she rolled her eyes. Now she knew why he was having so much trouble. Most nobles, her aunt included disliked the gypsy. She knew if he said he hated them as well she would get upset and he feared that… If he said he liked them then he would probably be shunned…
Well this would be easier then she thought. With a quick answer she moved onto the next question which was, “How do you feel about the season shows and bazaars: She grinned and answered that one the same as before. And then came the final question. Do you think humans and half bloods should be given any respect: She pondered it for a moment. Well obviously he was getting a human sister in law and his brother was half… It seemed obvious what he answer would be but… She was not the head of the house… She could not really put her own opinion in this… One could take it either way… If she answered it like she would then it might get him in trouble… However from the sound of the letter it seemed depending on how he replied it might make life harder…
With a sly grin she began to write. She knew what she was going to say. Just as she forged his signature a maid came into the room. She gave a surprise look, “Oh my I… I had no clue… I apologize I will-” Before she could finish Innocence put a finger to her lips. “Shhhhh…” The maid gave a confused look and noticed Damon was sleeping. She then smiled softly before sending a slightly confused look at Innocence. Innocence in turn blew on the letter to make it dry faster before making a motion for the maid to come over. Following the command Innocence handed her the letter. “Send this for me please. Do it as fast as possible as well.” The maid taking the letter looked at it before nodding her head and leaving the room. Innocence getting the letter finished hid all of the stuff before settling against Damon a happy smile on her face.
A few hours later Damon ended up waking up. He was resting against something which was warm and soft. That confused him seeing the last thing he remembered was his desk. Opening an eye he noticed golden hair and sat up. He then noticed Innocence was asleep and he had been using her as a pillow. Smiling softly he sighed before sneaking from the room back to his office. Reaching the office he sat down at his desk before frowning… His letter was missing. Panicking he stood up and leaned over his desk to see if it fell but the floor was bare. Growling in further panic he got on his knees and checked under his desk. He needed that letter!
Innocence who had noticed the lack of body heat moaned in discomfort before sitting up and noticing Damon had left. Pouting she stretched and headed to the one place she knew he would be. Reaching the office she saw him under his desk. Biting back an amused comment she just sighed and leaned against the doorframe. “Damon…” Before she could finish in his surprise he ended hitting his head under the desk. Innocence rolling her eyes walked over to him a small smile of amusement on her face. “Damon… As much as I love to see you in such an provocative position, you are putting me to shame and I would rather see you asleep… What are you doing anyways…?”
Damon getting from under the desk sat in his chair and started to nurse his head. “Trying to find my paper… I need to finish it…” Innocence sighing walked over to him and placed her finger on his nose. “Bad Damon, you should be asleep… Now your lovely noggin is going to get a goose egg…” Leaning forward she gave his hand and head a sweet kiss before placing her hands at his shoulders. “Darling… You need to stop worrying…” He just looked up at her with a look of desperation. Just as Innocence was going to drag him from his chair the maid came into the room. “Miss… I got a response letter… Do you wish to read it now or later?” Innocence smiling took the letter from the maid and waved as she left. Damon thinking it was a letter from Engima simply went back on his knees and started looking again.
Innocence watch before rolling her eyes. She figured he was going to be stubborn but he was going to end up getting sick if he kept this up… Little did he know she had already worked on the letter… Although she was not really sure if she was going to be able to tell him until she read the return letter… She was not sure if she could handle him being upset at her if she did something wrong… Sighing again she kneeled before getting on her knees as well and then sat under the desk. She however just stared at him long and hard as he continued to search. When he stood up to check around the desk she sighed. She then opened the letter and started to read it…
“Lord Damon, your opinions have been noted. We had no idea you felt so strongly about these issues and your input has helped make a very difficult ruling. We will be looking to your insight on further issues if they should appear. As the far as the rulings go, on your request we will tell you before anyone else. Please keep these matters secret. As for the gypsy we will be allowing them to keep refuge in Darcia until the current lord or lady expels them. The bazaar will keep as planned and your input on humans and half bloods are very helpful. We are still coming to an exact decision. We hope you are happy with the results. We will be contacting you again in the near future…” It was signed by some guy who had a very messy signature.
Just as she was going to put the letter back she felt someone glaring at her. Peeking from the letter she saw Damon glaring at her, squeaking she stuffed the letter down her bodice and placed her hands in her lap. “Aheh… Hi, find that letter yet?” She gave a sheepish smile before trying to crawl from her spot. Damon however grabbed her by the waist and forced her to stand. “What was that?” Innocence pouted and looked at him, “Um… A letter from sister…” Damon let her go and crossed his arms. “Honestly, what is it? If you think stuffing it down your dress front is going to stop me from getting it you are dead wrong…” Innocence then sighed and reached into her bandages. “It is a response letter for you…”
The look on Damon’s face made her flinch, “Uh… Well um… But I uh…” Damon had a look on his face between depressed, confused, upset, and almost pissed. She had no clue he was felt so strongly about this letter. Grabbing the letter he read it quickly before giving her a confused look. Innocence was playing with the hem of her skirt while looking at the floor. She thought she did good but apparently she did very badly. She felt her eyes tearing up before she looked up, “I am so-” Before she could finish her apologize she felt him wrap his arms around her and drop the response letter. “Damon?” She was confused. He looked upset a moment ago…
She then felt him rest against her slightly as if he was falling asleep. Pushing him slightly she made it so he fell onto the chair. Falling with him she looked up at him with confusion in her eyes. She then noticed the look of relief and tilted her head. “Did I-?” Before she could finish she was placed in a loving kiss which made her blink in surprise. When he broke the kiss he just buried his face in her neck again. She heard him mumble a thank you before totally relaxing. Careful of his recent head against desk trauma she patted his head. She then placed a small kiss against his nose. Finally happy to see him smiling again she reached into her shirt and placed the ink back.
Damon however noticed, “When did you do the letter exactly… And how the hell did you forge my signature?” Innocence just smiled, “I did it as you slept, and I gave it to the maid who gave me the response letter… And as for the forging… I am very good at forging the signatures of those I admire. Just ask my sister.” Damon sighed before shaking his head amused, “No… I believe you… God I just noticed how tired I am…” Innocence smiled softly before getting up from his lap and walking behind him. Placing her hands on his shoulders she began to rub them. “Well that is what you get for panicking over something so simple. I can help remember that.”
Tilting his head backwards he looked up at her quietly. Tilting her head to the side she gave him a small smile before leaning forward and giving him another small kiss before pushing him slightly. “Alright now that everything worked out let us get some sleep…” Damon moaned and whined about being forced to get up but with a final push he finally stood up and glared at her. She just wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his chest. A big smile on her face. “Come on, I will let you sleep on me again, you are better then a heated blanket…” Rolling his eyes he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and felt himself yawn.
Leading the two of them down the hallway back to his room he decided he will ask for her help next time around. Makes it less of a stressor. Not to mention if it meant he got to get some sleep… Yawning again he reached the bedroom. Allowing her to walk to the bed while he closed the door he stretched and then sat on the bed. He stared at the door for a moment before feeling arms wrap around his waist again. He grinned softly when he felt Innocence nuzzle her face in his back. Rubbing her arms for a moment he made a movement to lay down. Releasing him she waited as he got comfortable before rested against him a large smile on her face. She had done good today and she was happy to finally get her pillow back.
Wrapping her arm around his waist she buried her face in his chest and sighed. Wrapping one of her legs around his she felt her smile grow. Hell yes this beat a cold empty hallway and pillow that smelled like him any day… She hoped Rhys was getting some sleep too, he deserved to get some sleep as well. With a content sigh she felt herself fall asleep, this time pinning him down to make sure he did not get up for any reason without waking her up, he would be getting a decent nights sleep if it killed her. She refused to have him get sick… She already knew what they could do tomorrow. With a cattish grin on her face she finally fell asleep just after Damon himself feel asleep…
