A/N: Ellllo muahahahaha
Well anyways this story is not exactly hilarious on paper as it was written before I lost my… Okay well never mind it was because it was a serious creative essay assignment but still yeah… I will be beefing it up with some funny moments or at least some potentially hahaha moments so make sure your lamps are not drinking behind you cause if they are and your computer gets ruined I refused to get sued for it. Everyone set? Okay good.
This story is about a pretty unicorn who meets a bulletproof train and they fight to the end only the unicorn is able to transform into a robot and no not the rainbow variety. It is almost like ultimate prime. So yeah awesome story right? To bad this story has nothing to do with that. I lied. This story is something completely different and you need to read it to figure out what it is about so deal.
Once again do not drink or eat. It has a slow beginning but I swear you probably will regret any form of ingestion and story reading. You have been forewarned <(Not a typo) and I think this horse has been beaten. So onwards.

I am what most girls hate… I kind of wish I could trade it for a normal life… Yeah it is one of those oh so tragic princess stories only I am hardly a princess. I am just to rich for my own good because my parents which causes for some rocky issues with the girls at my school. You probably think that I go to a special school for those like me with rich parents and yeah I do but I am even to rich for them. You probably hate me just by reading this… Please forgive me I am not trying to complain or brag I am just trying to figure out what to do and nothing works.
Granted I am not the only one who is born into this insanity. I do have my little sister but she takes it a lot better then I do or maybe she looks up to me even though I am a horrible older sister and go to her for help. It is probably because despite everything going on I protect her. No I am not trying to get your sympathy and please do not give me pity… Anything but pity… I just want a way out but trust me I have tried everything. I cannot run away or this will all fall onto my sister, she cannot run with me because as much as I hate being rich we do need money and I love my family…
It is not just the money either that would be enough with all the pranks and bullying those girls who hate me put me through but being some call goddess of violin as my aunt calls me and demands I should take advantage of the connections she has for me on stage in front of such be crowds… The horror is I am shy and just take the bullying with the grain of salt, let me aunt walk all over me, and stumble through life… It is way to complicated for a high school girl to deal with. I wish I could complain and have it all just go away to the degree of just being normal but that would be a fairytale or a miracle and we all know those things never come true…

“Explain to me againwhy I need to help someone else in order to get my wings?” A young man with a scowl and crossed arms asked as he took lithe strides after his guardian. It was interesting that even angels had guardians but it was as stupid as it was more or a big brother big sister program to make sure every angel got their halo and wings. Luckily for Kaius he has gotten his halo easily. It was one less hassle for him and that was a good thing because he had one hell of a hassle coming up. He had to help a human with some drama…
He was handed a file as his guardian who had the same file calmly listed off things not bothering to answer questions. He glared as his guardian purposely flared his glorious wings as he continued onwards to read the file for Kai to drive the point home. “Name: Yamatsuchi Akari Age: 18 She has long black hair and particular greenish blue eyes… Interesting… Anyways she is currently a Senior living with her parents who are insanely rich as it seems. She has a younger sister… Not much is known. Her issue is her shyness. Fix that and you will get your wings. The better you fix it the more glorious the reward.” Ichiro spoke calmly before closing the file and looking at his junior.
He was glared before sighing. He was glad he read to the file out loud or else this probably would have gone a lot slower and failed. “You have three tries… Try not to mess it up or else you will need to wait another thousand years…” He sighed before pointing to the well, “Try not to startle to the girl while helping her. You are suppose to remain hidden but knowing you that will not happen… At least attempt to act normal.” Ichiro at this point had lost all patience with his junior especially because after he got his last words out Kaius was long gone leaving a graying angel.

Akari who was studying in her room heard a light knock on her door. She opened it to find her younger sister. She was shorter then she was with black hair that was to her mid back. Her eyes were a strange color of green that sometimes were blue depending on what she wore but due to this family it was mostly black. Her eyes were their normal dull as her aunt called it or as Akari rather call it, serene, look looked up at her sister. “Onee-Sama… I was wondering if you want to sleep together again.” Akari gave a semi surprised look but then smiled softly.
Her sister knew she has bad anxiety and every bit helped and her sister was like a big teddy bear. Plus it was the two of them in that huge house. Her sister was forced to grow up and was hardly like those girls in the comics she indulged in behind their aunts back. She was not bubbly and tragic, she was mature and practical and could unfortunately despite all her efforts to protect her… ended up being protected instead. Moving aside to allow her sister access to her room and bed she continued to do her homework knowing her sister finished already and was going to sleep ahead of her.
With a huge tired sigh she was finally done. Crawling next to her sister she was just about to fall asleep when she noticed a black cat. It had the most shocking red eyes. That was… Unusual… Cats did not have red eyes… She sat up peeking at her sister making sure she did not wake her sister. She strolled over to the cat not sure how it made it to her windowsill all the way on this floor. She however had a soft spot for cats or any animal really. She approached the cat expecting it to jump but it did not make any movement. In fact it seemed to hold an almost human intelligence.
Kaius had made his way from his little rabbit hole to the location he was suppose to be. Luckily for him despite no wings and now no halo for human sake he was able to track down this little rich girl who was going to get his wings. He noticed once he was there he was not going to be able to just barge in despite how easy that would be… He changed into a cat and jumped with lithe and super human or in this case cat leaps until he reached the correct windowsill. He was glad he made it in time. It seemed she was able to go to sleep and the last thing he needed was to wait. He hated waiting not to mention cat or not he would basically be a stalker…
As she approached he stared at her. He knew despite his form his red eyes most likely would be a dead give away. He should have turned into something with red eyes oooor just changed his eyes like the rest of his peers who were all carbon copies of each other, blonde hair and blue eyes… Yuck. True he probably looked like the demon prince or Kuro Ouji as they all called him with his black hair and red eyes but hey he wanted what he wanted. There was no way he was going to be like them and if it meant he was going to be considered some demon prince he would take it. It had prince in it after all. Sure it did not need to be blue eyes maybe gold or at least a more cat like color but blah… This would be more fun.
He kind of wished the sister was not around. Sure it sometimes accidentally got out to the person getting help that their guardian was helping them but it was heavily frowned upon when others found out and it normally involved minds getting erased which could go back farther then intended. He was a rule breaker not a heartless bastard. Still he wanted to have some fun so when she was close enough he gave a purr before giving a smirk, “Hello dear.” Sure he hardly meant dear or his hello he had better things to do but her falling onto her ass was well worth it and the look on her face almost made this worth it. She then gaped like a fish and he jumped down to the floor.
“Oh dear did I give you a fright? Cats do not talk… Oh silly me.” He was trying not to laugh as she just watched him with a freaked out look. He then gave an amused look as the look dulled down and she stood up. “I stayed up and this is just a complete delusion from hard work and worries yup…” She went over to her sister. “I will wake up and this will all be fine.” He waited until she was asleep before jumping onto the bed and falling asleep. He was tired from traveling and all. Angel or not being on earth made it so he was not completely angelic not that he ever had the angelic personality.
---
Akari was used to hugging something smaller than herself and snuggling into it that way but for some reason she felt something wrapping an arm around her waist. She still was snuggled into something but it was not downward into her sister’s soft shampooed hair but a warm muscled chest. It took her a moment to notice that she was not sleeping with her sister but a half naked or at least she hoped at this point as the lesser of evils it was a half naked guy. She let out a long scream and ripped free before beginning to beat him up. At being assaulted Kaius woke up and remembered what had happened as he was assaulted by tiny fists.
Anju woke up to return to her room. She needed to go to get dressed for school and get her things in order. Sometimes she went with her sister if they went in the same direction but that was rare. She then noticed an odd cat. The cat stirred when she moved. It stared at her and she stared back. That seemed almost to unnerve it but it did not move. “Kitty…” She gave a soft monotonous statement before returning to what she was going to do. Kaius watched her leave with a baffled look. He was not sure if he was happier with, that he was working with HiKari or that he was not working with Ms. Killjoy. He then noticed the open warm spot and grinned…
He continued to be assaulted by fists before he grabbed her wrists. “Oi oi chill out will ya? You know for someone with an issue with being shy you really have a temper.” That statement seemed to calm her down a little. “Ho-How do you know I have an issue with being shy? I do not even know you?” After a moment she remembered what was going on. “Oh my god! You are a pervert and a stalker!” She began flailing again which Kaius just took in stride. “Or I am your guardian angel.” Another statement that took her off guard enough to pause before she glared at him. “I am supposed to believe that?”
Kaius shrugged not letting go to avoid more bruises. “Well I know all there is about you, I was a cat until a few hours ago a talking cat, I can change into something else or back into one if you do not believe that was me.” He said nonchalantly. HiKari shook her head but did not flail, “This is not some stupid manga this is not a fairytale what the hell is going onnnn.” She wailed until he used both hands to pin her arms and used the free one to cover her mouth. “Oi woman you are to loud.” That earned him a glare and he just smoothly smirked.
“Soo am I just going to run around naked or are you going to get me something to wear?” With that she gave a scream of frustration under his hand. He gave an almost boyish grin before letting her mouth free, “Well?” She glared, “I think I might be able to get you something if you let me go…” With that he gave a knowing look but let her go she jumped up and was practically going to run but he was already in the form of a cat and with a fast leap on her shoulder. “Where we going?” He asked with excitement as if he had no idea she was running from her.
She gave a scream of frustration but then followed through with what she had promised. Now dressed Akari who was not feeling well enough to go to school which was at this point nothing new to her school or teachers was glancing at her new guest who was fiddling with a button and the collar to make the style of the shirt his. “So… Why were you naked?” She asked with a grimacing frown. He looked up and smirked at her expression. “Just because this may seem like it came out of a manga does not mean I can just shift around and magically be wearing clothes. I mean it is highly impractical. That is why I avoid doing it but it would not be possibly for me to storm into your house that late at night.”
He gave a shrug before standing which she gave a surprised look at. He rose a brow considering he had done nothing he knew of to earn the look. “What?” She just made a gesture before muttering. “Tall…” He rolled his eyes. “Oh. First being naked is a crime which I guess I can understand despite all your little pictures of us running around nude but now being tall is an issue?” She pouted, “No… I just did not expect you to be that tall. Anyways what are you going to do my aunt does stop by and my parents do live here sometimes and I do go to school once in awhile.”
Kaius shrugged. “Well I will be part of the help or something. I can be a tutor after all I am suppose to be curing your shyness. As for going to school it is not like I am thousands of years old or something… I will just go to school with you.” Akari gave a blank look at that. “I do not have a boys uniform in my pocket of tricks…” With an almost condescending sigh, cross of his arms, and shake of his head, he looked at her. “Well duh, take me to the stupid school and allow me to enroll.” She looked at him before sighing. “Fine.” She got up before going to change and noticing him following.
“You stay out while I change…” She said before slamming the door in his face. He just grinned. “See your braving up already.” He said through the door before leaning on it. She just shook her head. “That is because you piss me off so much…” As she took off her pajamas she pulled out her uniform. She figured if she was going to help him enroll she was going to be going for the day. Suddenly she heard the angel’s name filter through the door. Two thoughts came through her head. One was he was just as noisy as his insult suggested as she was… She was going to kill him… If that was even possible. That and she was going to have to ask his name.
“Uh… There is a woman with a snotty voice coming up the stairs talking about charities, violins, and you. That would not be your aunt by chance wo--” Before he could finish he was dragged into her room. The fear of her aunt far outweighed the fact she still did not have her uniform fully on. She fought the urge to slam the door in her fear which would grab her aunts attention. This was probably where she was heading but why let her know she was awake… She then felt to arms snake around her waist. “Oh I see, let her think you are delinquent, get her off your back.” She felt a blush raise from her neck to her forehead. She then duck her nails into his arms. “Let me gooo.” She hissed.
He let out a hiss of his own at getting clawed. He heard a knock. “Akari? I hear voices I am coming in.” Akari gave a look of fear but as much fun as it was to cause he issues Kaius was already in his cat form hiding amongst stuffed animals. He could tell that this aunt was to busy with Akari to care. “Oh my why are you indecent? Get dressed now!” Quickly dressing her aunt went back to what she had been talking about. “You are alone? Nobody is hiding I hope…” She said with a dark look. She with a failed nonchalance looked around the room but found no body. Akari just gave a weak, “Just talking to myself.”
Her aunt gave her a look before nodding slowly. “I see well hurry to school if you are so well. I want you to practice your violin. Your sister is better then you are I swear.” With that she left swiftly. Akari gave a sigh and Kaius came out of hiding. He looked at the door before tilting his head. “The girl from before… She is your sister I take it?” Akari gave a sad nod. “I wish she would no compare us. I love my sister. I do not want a competition…” Kaius was silent and took advantage of Akari’s silence to change back into a human and change into his clothes. He sat on the bed before crossing his arms. He noticed her alarm.
“Oi oi I am dressed relax. I am trying to think. If you do not want to compete with your sister and she was nice enough to ease your anxiety by sleeping with you I doubt anything she says will do much. Sure it will probably cause you to worry which is causing what your sister to do to really be for nothing but it is the whole thought that counts right? I guess if you both do not fall for her tricks you will be fine……. What?!” He said after noticing she was staring at him. Akari who had expected to be teased or for him to agree with her aunt did not expect something like that. Maybe he was not a devil after all.
“Nothing nothing just um… Surprised. Anyways nothing lets get you enrolled.” Unknowingly in her huff she went from one embarrassment to the other as she grabbed his hand and dragged him out of her house. That of course was fine by him, he had no idea where the school was and he knew when she found out the reaction would be priceless. Once they were at the school it was there when they got stares, well mostly him, and how they were holding hands, that she noticed and he got her priceless reaction. At his snicker she glared but she still led him to the registrations office. He with a quick hand got things filled out and soon got a homeroom, a uniform, and many other things.
With a groan she noticed that homeroom and other things happened to be her homeroom and a seat next to her. “I swear if this is some type of voodoo angel magic…” She said under her breath towards him he just grinned, “Angels do not use voodoo magic.” At them silently bickering the teacher noticed their lack of attention. “Tamatsuchi-San is there something you wish to share?” She jumped startled. She was bad at these things especially because everyone was looking at her trying not to laugh. Kaius smirked before shrugging, “Probably not but I do.” He said before giving her cheek a peck. That seemed to shut everyone up.
“Oh uh my… Who are you again?” Kaius grinned he had needed to give a human last name which was not to difficult he did have one before dying and all. “Fujiware Kaius.” That caught most of the new fan girls attention and Akari’s attention as she was going to ask. The teacher then spoke, “Then Fujiware-San I ask you do not act like that during class.” And like that things resumed without her actually being the blunt of the embarrassment. Almost as if he was there to cushion it. She peeked at him. He noticed and grinned before going back to pretending he cared about the work but did it anyways. On their way out he was bombarded.
“Uawaaaah!~” A few different girls said before asking questions. “When is your birthday?” One girl asked, “What is your favorite color?” Another asked an important question, “Are you single?” And the other girls shut up with their fangirling questions as they wanted to know after the display in class. Kaius gave a rather uneasy look. He disliked these types of girls, no fun because they were unstable and threw themselves at you. Not to mention these girls all were causing Akari stress by bullying her right? With a glint in his eye he smiled, “I can say I was born in summer, I love green, and I am taken.”
The girls seemed confused the cryptic message but before they could ask for a better ask he was already taking off towards Akari’s house. Not that they knew the direction he was going in. Akari did however and trotted after him. “I hope you do not plan on using me to get away from them. They hate me enough as it is.” Kaius just smirked, “They hate you sure because of the reasons they have now and probably they will hate you if they find out I meant you but if I make it clear that if anyone causes you trouble I would assume both genders would leave you alone?” He paused causing her to bump into him. She glared up before sighing. “I guess but if this backfires I am so dead…”
“Well then Kari-Chan looks like we will be dating.” Akari gave a dry look at the nickname and because of the reasoning for dating but she just past him, “Fine by me… Kai-Chan!” She said and noticed the nickname got her a surprised look. “Hey! Do not call me that!” He yelled after her. “Whatever you say… Kai-Chan.” She said opening the door to her house. What she did not expect was her parents to be home. So when Kaius was already in the house and walking with her towards her room their surprise and her father’s protective nature at seeing a boy in the house made Akari sighed.
How this whole angel thing was suppose to make her life easier was beyond her. She then noticed Kaius walk over. “Hello Yamatsuchi-Sama. I was walking your lovely daughter home. She said she had issues with preforming in front of a large audience and I often have to speak in front of large crowds. I was hoping to possibly help her. Although… I am unsure if that is really possible through words but I hope to be of any help if possible.” At the explination and politeness he never showed her fathered seemed to calm. “Oh… Dear he seems to be rather delightful… What is your name?”
Smiling in a charming manner he answered, “Fujiware Kaius and you both are?” He did not want to seem like he was hitting on Akari’s mother… He just cooled the waters. “Ah I am Yamatsuchi Rin and this is my husband…” Deciding to give him the opportunity to answer. “My name is Yamatsuchi Takeshi.” He stated calmly. Moving up the charm a little he smiled more, “Oh I heard from Akari-Chan that she has a sister. I assumed that you were her. I assumed she possibly had a brother she forgot to mention.”
Both of parents shared a glance before Rin just giggled, “How charming.” Takeshi just gave a glance, “First name basis?” He threw the question out nonchalantly. “Seems rather cozy for just helping out my daughter on her stage fright.” Akari not happy with the chaos that she felt was looming saw her sister enter. She then calmly noticed the scene. She calmly said, “Kitty…” Kaius gave her a surprised look. Akari shared the look but Anju then in her odd behavior just said, “Yamatsuchi Anju…” Kaius just gave her a weary look but nodded. “Nice to meet you Ojou-Hime” He said charmingly. He however felt those eyes…
He knew that she knew that despite the change of topic… She was not as dumb as she looked. She either over heard, saw him transform god help him and her innocence, or was just to smart… Akari noticed her parents share a look. “Anju sweetie do you know him?” Her eyes looked at him and as easy as it could have been to say he was the boy who was gripping her sister naked this morning she went with the story she had overheard when taking her shoes and switching to slippers. “Kai-Chan please care for my sister.” She then left. Akari watched her sister and her parents looked shocked at the nickname. Akari gave a weak smile. “We all have nicknames for each other. So do not act to surprised okay.”
She did not want her parents throwing a fit if she got into a fight with Kaius and he called her Kari to piss her off and the cushion thanks to Anju helped with her calling him Kai to piss him off. As for Anju well it was short enough and she as everyone knew did not care for her own nickname and just went along with everyone elses so hopefully this would not be to strange. “Mom… Dad I hope he can stay in a spare room and help me. I need help…” I put on my ready to freak look and they cave rather quickly but my father makes it clear, “He stays in the spare room.” I can promise it but… I look over at Kaius who spares me a lightning quick grin that it probably will not be true.
I however can only sigh before heading up the stairs. I cannot control my guardian angel and knowing him he would just confidently be able to hide if anyone happens to appear… The only issue would be her sister. God bless her sister. Well until school. With a sigh she tried to decompress by listening to music. She then went to change while dancing to the music like she sometimes found herself doing. Unfortunately for her, Kaius was sitting in her window with a large grin. “Why are you undressing so quickly. Do it slower.” Not expecting she let out a loud “Kyaaaah!!!!” He just smirked as she fell on her ass and stared at him before noticing something.
“Kai-us… Why are you wearing cat ears and a cat tail?” Now it was his turn to be embarrassed but he hid it with his bangs. “Your sister… She knows I was that cat and seems obsessed in making me into a cat. Not sure if she wants me into a full fledged cat but yeah… I am a fricken angel not a neko…” At laughter he looked up with his face flush, “Hey do not laugh at me, you are still half naked!” Remembering she was still not fully dress she used her top to cover herself. “Get out of my room!” With a grin and trying to resume getting rid of his blush at being forced into a neko outfit. However it was not that easy.
With a challenging pout Akari stood up carefully and went over to him and pushed him off his perch. “Pervert!” He however just used his power to avoid actually falling. He appeared on her bed. “Nice ass Kari-Chan.” She let out a scream and nearly fell out of her window but he grabbed her wrist. “Oh relax. You do realize that angels watch all the time right? They are not perverts they just want to avoid any accidents that might have been avoided in the shower so just get over it.” Helping her to her feet he seriously let her go before crossing his arms. She just gave a look of dread. “So you have seen me naked already?”
He rolled his eyes. “No… But others have. I just am telling you the truth so stop being such a prude.” She pouted before noticing he was being his seirous self while being dressed as a cat. She tried to hold it in but ended up bending over and laughing hard. He gave a look of confusion but remembered. “O-Oi! Stop that!” He ripped the ears off and struggled with the tail but ultimately got it off. “Your sister is crazy. Keep her away from me!” Akari grinned, “So my sister is a talisman to you?” Kaius just gave a blank expression in which Akari smirked, “I take that as a yes.” Kaius got flushed again, “Sh-shut up… Just keep her away from me.”
Akari shrugged, “Maybe I will if you behave.” Kaius gave a glare but decided for his health that he would behave for now anyways. He noticed that despite her shyness and bullying that she was a good student. He on the other hand decided to sleep during class by the fifth day was labeled a delinquent. He was still good at his grades as he was hardly stupid, he was an angel, and he just copied Akari’s homework. The only issue was his falling asleep so that enough was to get him into trouble. He went every day to keep Akari from being bullied and acted as her boyfriend just to keep the girls off her back. He hated school and was glad to go home every day.
---
Over the couple of months bullying creased and Akari seemed to with her arguments with Kaius become a little braver but the issue was not resolved as Kaius still did not have his wings and she was still petrified of her aunt and playing on stage. Kaius took it upon himself to finally bring it up. “Oi… I have never actually heard you play the violin just overhear your obnoxious aunt bitch about it and how you will be wonderful on stage…” He noticed her get pale but she picked up the lovely violin and started to play. In the beginning she was nervous and Kaius just watched but she seemed to get lost in the music. He was surprised by how nicely she played and saw where her deranged aunt was talking about.
She then finished and got embarrassed that she had got so into the music. “Oi oi Kari-Chaaan you play fine why the hell are you shy again?” Normally he would say that to rush her along but honestly girls like her would be like the bitches in her class. She looked down and the arms holding her violin drooped. “I… I do not know… I just cannot play in front of people. I could not even play in front of you. I can only play in front of family.” Kaius sighed, “Well it looks like I got my work cut out for me then.” Akari ignoring the nickname looked at him with curiosity, “You are going to help me? How no one has helped me…”
Kaius sighed, “Angel here, just sitting waiting to help, remember?” Akari gave an embarrassed look, “Oh yeah.” She then put her violin away and sat down on her bed next to Kaius with a hopeless look on her face. Kaius looked at her and sighed. “Oi… Do not look so depressed.” She sighed. “Well you make fun of me and tease me, I hardly find that worth making me brave on stage… What is in it for you? My soul or something?” Kaius rolled his eyes and smacked the back of her head making her glare with comical tears forming in her eyes as she held where she has been smacked. “O-oi…” Kaius sighed again. “A-N-G-E-L… I may not look the part but I am not a devil seeee.” He changed his appearance with a frown.
He has stunning blue eyes and shimmering angelic blond hair like he was suppose to have but looked miserable. She looked surprised. “Oh… Change back.” He gave a surprised look. “Why? Most people fawn over this appearance hence the whole reason we all wear this appearance…” Akari pouted, “Yeah but you look like someone just asked you to stab yourself a million times or something. Plus you look better with black hair. It is to cliché to have blond hair.” He grinned and changed back. “Finally someone who agrees!” He then rose a brow, “You are not catching my sarcasm right?” Akari gave a look of surprise before holding back a laugh.
“No no you look better. I mean it, seriously it is cliché. You stuck me as a rebel type. But now I am curious does this mean you can like… Change your appearance to like brown hair and green eyes or anything else?” Kaius smirked, “Is that the type Akari likes?” Akari blushed, “NO! I am just curious you perv!” Raising his hands to protect himself from her frail punches he laughed, “Alright alright I will answer. Yes I can pretty much change my appearance to anything and with that if I change into an animal my appearance changes as well. With the whole clothes mishap of course.” I try to avoid changing into animals but like I said desperation makes it so I have to do it.
Akari paused for a moment getting her answer but having more questions. “So why a cat and not a bird and what happened to your old clothes?” He looked surprised before smirking. “Cats are awesome although I think a bird would have worked better… Your sister would have left me alone but it would not have been as fun to tease you and it would have been to much of a shock to change in front of you so early on into a cat. As for my clothes well they are in a bush unless someone found them. Happy?” Akari finally put her fists down. “I guess but that is so cool… Hey one last question…” Kaius rolled his eyes but nodded signaling she could ask.
“You never answered my first question.” He gave a small nod, “Oh I get my wings and that cliché bull. I have my halo you just cannot see it as a human.” Akari gave a surprised look. “Oh I thought you had them already that makes sense.” Kaius gave her a raised browed look, “Most humans do not take it that well, most dislike being used when they have enough issues. Akari smiled, “Well I guess in a way you are helping with all of them and it is one of those you help me I help you so it is okay. I do not mind.” Kaius just shook his head. “Stupid girl.” Akari smirked and shook her head. “Stupid boy.” Kaius looked at her but ended up smirking.
Akari then got a slightly saddened look, “Um Kaius…” It caught his attention and his own smirk fell when he caught her expression. “Mm?” He said showing he heard her and was asking what she wanted. “So if you help me and I help you does that mean you will leave and never come back?” Kaius gave a surprised look but masked it, “Uh well this is the first time I have done this and Angels typically only do it once or else they are mocked and need to wait a rather long time to do it again and by then I suppose they forgot their first time…” He ranted slightly but seeing her face fall most he sighed. “I do not know… I guess I could visit once in awhile.” Further to his surprise she seem to brighten at that.
“Really!” What caught him off guard and totally by surprise was that she hugged him and caused him to fall onto the floor with her hugging him as if her life depended on it. He was confused how someone like him was exactly the type to want to be seen again, in fact he figured after all the teasing she would be happy to be rid of him but then again she did begin to throw verbal punches back… Due to their conversations they missed her aunt’s obnoxious route to Akari’s room to check on her or her parents following to explain a new tutor which her aunt was not pleased with. The two of them were surprised when her aunt let out a screeching scream.
Her parents gave a surprised look but anything they would have done or said would have been drowned out by Rin’s sister. “What are you doing to my precious jewel!!! Get off her!” Rin gave a small sweat drop. “Um Onee-Sama… My daughter is on top of him…” She said before sending her daughter a confused look. Returning to her senses she brushed off her skirt and helped Kaius up who was not used to such chaos. Akari then as she watched her mother and aunt argue, mostly on her aunt’s part broke in shyly. “Um… He caught me. I was so surprised by his promotion despite being in my class that I slipped while celebrating. I almost broke my ankle.”
Her aunt went from one extreme to another knowing the concert was coming up and a cast would look horrendously ugly. “Oh… I see that is such a relief then. Well he should get out. If the lesson is over I would hate for anymore misunderstandings.” Akari gave a weak smile. “Yes of course aunt…” She watched as Kaius nonchalantly ignored the glare her aunt gave and the fatherly glare he got. Akari watched in awe wishing she could do that. She then sat back on her bed. She then after a moment paused. An angel… They grant wishes and stuff right? “Kaius you can here me right and grant wishes I want within reason? Come back to my room without getting caught.”
In a poof he was next to her. “I already got caught, the next time I hope I actually get some action for such nasty looks.” He said with a large grin. She just rolled her eyes. “Change into a cat.” He rose a brow. “You know that means when I change back I will have to get dressed right and if they find my clothes you will get in trouble or rather I will…” He said with a little dread in his voice. Akari smiled, despite his lack of caring when he left it seemed her family was scary to him. “Yes I know just do it.” He sighed and did it. She then scooped him up much to his surprise again. “Full of surprises tonight…” He said as she rubbed her cheek against his head. He could not help but purr though. She giggled. “Sorry. Anju is sleeping over at a friend’s house and I have a big test.”
He was silent. “Sooo sleep with me.” He grinned, “You trust me not to change?” Akari giggled, “Rather I trust you do not want my parents or aunt to get to you.” Kaius winced, she had a point. “Alright already… O-o-oi what are you doing.” As she rubbed one of his ears causing him to struggle before melting into her arms. “Rubbing your ears. I figured if you could not feel it as my sister’s test subject you could now.” He sighed before allowing her to do what she wanted. Suddenly she said with an almost evil grin. “Does this make you my slave? You are letting me do whatever I want and appear when I want even if you tease me.”
He then wiggled free and jumped onto her bed. “Now hold on. I may be your guardian and need to protect you but there is no rule about being your slave. Technically if you are safe which you are then I can just go back to my room… I have clothes there. I can just say you stole these ones. You were the one who jumped me after all.” Akari gave a pained expression at the fact he was right before crossing her arms. “Fine fine but then why did you rush over?” Kaius blushed under his fur. “… Uh power of prayer.” Akari noticing his strange behavior and taking a moment to answer blushed but hid it by jumping onto the bed. “Okay fine.”
She did not push the matter. In her mind it would be flirting and she did not flirt… Especially not with Kaius… Maybe if she was like her so called classmate friends but yeah… She sat up and picked Kaius up so she could snuggle him like a stuffed animal. At him not struggling she figured he would go limp or stiff. He however just relaxed and fell asleep. She was surprised but he was like Anju he had a calming way around him. Burying her noise into his fur she fell asleep. Kaius who woke up at the motion peeked at her. He mentally sighed. This was not good but he could not help it and it seemed neither could she. He needed to get this over with soon for the both of them…
---
The next day Akari woke up to find that she was still gripping her fuzzy guardian angel and he had not changed to tease her, or perhaps her family really did scare him. Either way when she stirred his ears twitched and he woke up. He looked at her, “You know we have that infernal thing you call school today right…” That is all he had to say in order to spark the fire under her butt. She sprung away nearly throwing him into the air in the process. He just watched amused until she started to change in her rush. He morphed back into a human and took this chance to get dressed. He then sat on the end of her bed as she fumbled to get her homework together.
She then tore her head in his direction. “AH! You are in here!” He gave a blank look, “No… No I am just a figment of your imagination.” He then looked at his nails as she gave a comical droop and he rolled his eyes. “Come on you emotionally unstable girl before you explode.” Throwing her over his shoulder he started down the stairs. He by staying so long knew both parents would be gone as would the sister. The aunt was iffy but so far so good. Once she started kicking he put her down. He snickered before walking in front of her. “About time you snapped out of it Akari-Hime.” He said in a teasing manner swiftly turning.
His forehead crashed lightly into hers and his nose was touching hers which made her face explode in a blush. He then in a mock concerning voice said, “OH! Maybe you should have stayed home. You look sick.” After using his arm to avoid a hit from her school bag to his head he snickered again as she stormed ahead of him with a blush still on her face. He shook his head, despite knowing this was just fueling a fire he was suppose to be dousing he could not help it. She was to fun to tease. Once at school he actually tried to pay attention but for the most part just looked the part as he zoned out and day dreamed instead of actually sleeping.
Akari noticed and threw him a look. She then after class on their way home asked him another question. “Why do you sleep so much…” That earned her a shrug. “It is a nice way to kill time. Next to teasing you of course. Akari-Hime.” She felt herself boil at the nickname but then just crossed her arms. “Kai-Ouji I demand you stop calling me that before I think of something terrible to do to you and trust me I may not seem like it but I am my aunt’s niece…” He grumbled at the nickname. “Fine fine.” She was surprised it worked and knew it was not because of the threat she used. He was silent before shaking his head with a smirk.
“Jeeez you need to stop picking up my bad habits. Besides being a goddess at the violin and having wonderful grades you are going to be seen as a delinquent.” Akari continued following him to her house despite her surprise at the compliments but then shrugged as she reached her house and slipped her shoes off, as she past him she had a smirk “Well dating you is making me a delinquent anyways right? Sooo it does not matter much.” He gave a surprised look as she went up the stairs as if she had not said anything but it was a silent victory and they both knew it. He sighed. He needed to hurry this up and fast. He knew things were slipping… He did not want to break her heart and the longer he was here the worse it would be.

It was a holiday that she never was a big fan of but hey… She had a boyfriend now right? Did angels even go for chocolate? She noticed a chin resting on her shoulder as she stared at a book of different chocolates. “Ooo chocolates.” She jumped and slammed the book closed. “Yeah so?!” He gave an amused look. “Man, defensive much. What is the big deal about chocolates.” Akari gave him a look before dragging him off. “Okay… Were you born an angel or did you die?” He gave a surprised look. “You know that is like asking an angel when they lost their virginity…” Smirking at her blush he sighed.
“Speaking of which-” Earning him a smack in the face with the book. “Okay fine I died. It was awhile ago. I am also not fully Japanese wrong so forgive me if I am not exactly the ideal charmer. Happy?” Getting ready to duck if she swung the book again as he rubbed his throbbing nose. She however nodded. “You look so young though…” He smirk, “It is cause I died young and I have only been up there as you all call it for so long. I forgot some earthly things though. I do not exactly stare down the clouds all day.” She nodded before blushing. “Sooo you did not overhear all the girls here gushing?” Kaius gave a confused look. “You mean about chocolate and how wonderful their homemade chocolate is going to be?”
Akari sighed. “Well kind of but I mean who it is for and all of that?” Kaius rose a brow, “Uh no… I assumed it was for themselves and their friends or whatever. Girls love chocolate. American girls go insane if guys get them chocolate anyways.” Akari gave a surprised look. “Oh… It is the opposite here… We give the chocolate.” Kaius smirked, “So you are going to give me chocolate or are you cheating on me?” He held up his hands when he saw the book ready. “Okay okay. I give be nice.” She huffed, “Only if you stop being so mean… By the way there are two types of chocolates. Seeing you have no clue, unless you are screwing with me, there is Honmei-choko and Giri-choko.”
Kaius just gave a small nod, “Annnnd the difference is?” Akari rolled her eyes. “Honmei is what lovers give and Giri is what friends and family give.” Kaius nodded getting it now. “Okay well that is fine and wonderful… So I need to deal with squealing girls giving their chocolates to guys all day?” Akari shrugged. “Unfortunately?” Kaius sighed. “Can I skip tomorrow?” Akari rolled her eyes. “No because my parents will kick you out for being a bad tutor.” Kaius grumbled. “Fine…” He however was not looking forward to the next day. In fact he was down right dreading it…
---
Kaius stared at his desk in shock. Akari was next to him with a similar expression. There was a pile of chocolates and due to lack of room there was bags where his book bag was suppose to go, some on his chair, and even some neatly placed on the floor. “Uh… Is this normal?” Kaius asked not exactly happy with so much chocolate that he had no place to sleep. Akari just sighed. “No, if you are suppose to be my boyfriend I am not sure if it is to get to me or because you are basically an idol… Deal with it I guess.” Kaius just looked at her with a helpless look. “Awhahwauu”
He said speaking in gibberish. “Nooo help…” He said finally speaking coherently. Akari saw he seriously had no idea what was going on and rolled her eyes. “Here. They are Honmei in case you are wondering. Accept them or throw them away do whatever you want.” She said handing him chocolates in the shapes of cats and wings. He after a moment sat at Akari’s desk and began popping and chocolates into his mouth enjoying the taste of chocolate. He had forgotten the taste. He felt bad about having Akari clean up the mess but… It made sense right? An angry girlfriend and all? … Still he felt guilty. The look on her face at him enjoying her chocolates seemed to help his guilt.
In fact it send a small jolt through him and he looked down at the chocolates as he went back to eating them but was less obnoxious about it. Once his desk was cleared he sat down. Akari gave a small amused look, “Happy?” Kaius nodded, “Yeah I liked the shapes.” Akari gave a small giggle. “No about your desk being cleared idiot.” Kaius gave a small. “Oh.” He then blushed, “Uh yeah.” Akari rolled her eyes. “The sad thing is I thing is all of those were Honmei chocolates which is practically taboo oh well. At least you do not need to worry about White Day.” Kaius looked at her with silent curiosity. Akari gave him a tired look.
“Oh gosh Kaius you cannot be serious! White Day is the day like Valentines day only it repays the girl’s chocolate by giving something in return and if you accepted all the chocolate you would have been screwed.” Kaius looked at the wrapper of the chocolates he had eaten. “Uh.” Akari noticing laughed, “No. Just the fact you did not spit them out was enough.” Kaius gave a small nod before looking away. “Make more… Sometime… Soon… Like tomorrow.” Akari laughed again. “So the idiot has a sweet tooth. Alright I am glad you liked it. With a smile she noticed the sugar kept Kaius awake enough for them to chit chat behind sensei and for once the holiday did not suck.”
---
Akari found herself making chocolates for Kaius. She had already been making them both lunch so she just added chocolates to his bento. She then noticed the boys at school were acting odd. Taking a look at the date she gave a groan. It was White Day. Kaius heard her groan. “What?” She kept to herself and past Kaius his bento not wanting to ruin his lunch but a girl ran by, “Jun-Chaaaan gave me that necklace I wanted for White Day!!!” Kaius gave Akari a look while she just tried to act like nothing was up. He then grinned, “Ooooh. So today is that day for returning the favor. Do I owe you like a house? IT has been awhile and I still have been getting chocolates. I wonder if I have gotten fat.”
Akari just gave him a dry look. He had not gained a pound. If the girls knew they would probably be jealous. At gaining her attention he leaned forward. Expecting some type of trick held out a hand and pushed him away. She then noticed her wrist was being hit by something that gave soft soothing clinking noises and made her wrist slightly heavier. She opened her eyes and noticed she had a charm bracelet. She looked at it and noticed it had all the cute little cliché charms a boyfriend would get that is if he knew his girlfriend. It had a violin, an angel wing, a cat, a key with a lock as the way to keep it on her wrist and the keep seemed to be the way to get it off but doubled as a charm.
She gave him a look, “Uh… What… When… Why?” She asked completely caught off guard and confused. Kaius keeping his attention on the chocolate in his bento smirked, “It is White Day and I am your boyfriend right? Not to mention think of it as a actual thank you for the chocolates and being amusing. Heaven is a bit… Overrated at least for angels like me. So I like to learn about these holidays and you are the only one I can ask without looking like a complete moron…” He had a small blush on his cheeks and at the giggle he looked up ready to be on guard but he noticed she was not giggling at his admittance and how embarrassing it was but was actually admiring the gift he figured she would find corny. He could not figure this girl out but for once he was glad his annoying senior sent him on this task. He just kind of wished it would not end. He was growing attached to it…
---
Cough” Kaius who had decided to skip all joking slept in the room given to him. He sat up not understanding exactly why his throat was dry and swallowing was like dying over and over. Being an angel away from heaven was like being human all over again but that did not mean he actually got sick. He knew he was only because of his minor cough. He wanted to groan but held it back because the last time he did it caused a coughing fit and almost made him throw up. He was glad it was Saturday even though it would be a shitty one. He fell back onto his pillow and placed a pajama clad arm over his misted eyes as he closed them.
He then heard the knob to his room jingle. He sat up suddenly to warn who he knew it was to stay away but she opened it up just in time to see him get dizzy and fall back onto his pillow. “Kaius? … Are you okay? I thought it was someone else.” Getting a badly masked cough as an answer she sighed. “I did not even know angels could get sick…” She then went over to him in which he avoided all attempts to check his forehead and help him until he just fell back onto his pillow unable to dodge anymore. “Well you certainly are an angel if you can avoid me for that long but god… I will go make you some porridge so you can take some medicine.”
Before he could protest he just gave a small smirk and sighed. He heard a small fight and was tempted to get up but heard the door slam. He was a sick angel not a dumb one. He knew it was her aunt. He was not much help… Maybe whatever her aunt was going to do was not going to be to much for her. Akari knew she could pray for his help and hopefully she would instead of biting the bullet for him. He sat up slightly. He noticed despite her sudden kidnapping she had already gotten things for him and left them. He smirked and sat up slowly. He put the gel pack on his forehead before trying to relax but could not shake the bad feeling he was getting…
---
“A-aunt… Why am I here?” She asked in a not so confident voice. Kaius was sick and probably was still awaiting her help and she had no idea why she never got to ask why. Anju could no come for her school was late letting out and her aunt kidnapped her… Now the both of them were on horses… Why was she horseback riding when she was trying to help her guardian angel for a change? Her aunt looked at her with a dry look. “A lady is suppose to be an expert in all fields. If you are to become popular with the public you need to be trained in all fields. Horseback riding, hunting, and general conversing after is all things I have yet to train you in.”
Akari gave an alarmed look. She loved animals and she loved horse back riding but how was she suppose to hunt an animal. Not to mention this horse seemed to be one that would be spooked at any little thing… If her aunt lost her temper she would be a goner and knowing her aunt… She was going to be dead one way or another, let it be the horse, her shooting herself by accident, or just her aunt strangling her for being an idiot. She gave a sigh and tried to lead the horse who was fighting her every step of the way. She wondered if her aunt got her the most difficult horse on purpose. However they began the hunt. She went to shoot but at the last moment chickened out.
Her aunt however did not. The shot of her gun was enough to spook her horse and it shot off out of the forest and into the clearing where they had come from. It was getting her face all scratched up. Akari was tempted to scream for Kaius but remembered in her chaotic ride that he was ill. She heard her aunt giving chase and orders on how to stop the horse before it killed her. She however could only hold on and not get killed. Suddenly she felt the horse rear and stop point blank. She was lucky she was hugging it so tightly or it would have ended up flying. She opened her eyes after a moment to see what stopped the horse.
She was surprised to see a large black stallion with red eyes. It snorted with anger and toward over the spooked horse. It however was so spooked it just resumed rooted to where it stopped. Her aunt caught up and gave a surprised look. “Oh my… What a stunning stallion… I did not see it before… I would have chosen him instead.” She watched as the spooked horse resumed where it was rooted as Akari watched Kaius stepped towards her and stood so she could switch horses. At first she looked at him and he just stared at her with a glare. She sighed under her breath and switched. The other horse bolted towards the stables.
Her aunt came over, “What a handsome stallion and it seems to have taken a liking to you.” When she went to pet Kaius he backed up and snorted. He was not pleased to have to be rescuing Akari in this manner. He then turned and galloped off leaving her aunt speechless. “Akari! We are not done!” She went to give chase but like last time her horse was frozen. She gave a screech and just sat. Her horse was fine after Kaius and Akari was out of sight and that was that. After a long gallop that was smoother and less chaotic she felt Kaius come to a stop. She felt under her that he was panting and she noticed he was shaking.
Despite being in the form of a horse he was still sick and acting like a sick human. He was sweating and not doing well but he still had helped her. She noticed he looked like he was about to drop. She jumped off his back and he was about to say something but she yanked on his mane lightly turning his head towards some stable girls who were looking in awe. He then shut up and tried to in his feverish blur act like a horse. Akari led him towards a meadow and after a moment said in a panicked voice said, “Tenshi change into something smaller.” She said just in case those girls were still listening.” She had no idea if she went to school with any of them or if they knew her aunt.
If a random stallion that appeared and helped her was called Kaius it would being upon them both some issues. Kaius who had buckled into a resting position gave her a tired look. “What?” He said in a tired voice. “Smaller like a um um uh ah, corgi, lizard, bird, oh uh or like an um… Cat, turn into a cat!” Kaius looked at her before giving a nod and turning into a cat. He then curled into a ball. He did not expect to be picked up or to have something wrapped around him. He gave a weak look as he noticed her press him to her chest as she ran from the bush she was hiding behind and run home. It was not that big of a run but she felt like her legs were going to melt beneath her.
She wanted to get Kaius the same help he had given her. Reaching his room she tore through his drawers despite the small amount of clothes they had got him. She then brought them to her room. Kaius who was asleep up until the moment of his room being turned upside-down gave a tired look. “What are you doing?” That is when she ignored him, grabbed the stuff she had gotten before and brought them to her room. She put his cat form onto her bed. He shifted slightly but was surprised as she put his large baggy clothes over his small cat body. “Okay change back and I will not look if something goes wrong.” He looked at her before giving a small coughing laugh.
He changed back and simply fixed the small issue of his pajama bottoms before sitting up. He then felt her smack three gel packs on his face. He gave a surprised look as his forehead and cheeks now had gel packs on them. He poked the one on his left cheek. “Uh… A little overboard? I am not going to-Ah!” Before he could answer he was dragged and pushed onto her pillows. “Shut up and let me help you!” She said with determination. He just gave an amused look before shutting up and letting her help him. By the time it was dark outside he had eaten something, was feeling less cold under the blankets and less hot in the face, and overall better. He was just tired. He just feared Akari’s parents and aunt.
He then noticed her face was covered in scratches in frowned. “Your aunt is not really caring to let you get covered in scratches over something completely stupid as hunting…” Akari rolled her eyes I know. She then felt his hand on her cheek and blushed but then noticed her tiny little pains were gone. She glared at him, “Go to sleep I have to outdo you - San” Earning herself a smirk and a laugh he shifted slightly and let the responsibility of dealing with her parents fall on her shoulders. It was kind of obvious what was wrong after all. Luckily for the both of them her parents came home late from work and just went to their room to collapse tired from their own work.
---
It was what Akari had called summer break. All the boys were bragging about where they were either going with friends or taking their girlfriends and they were going to see their lovely girlfriends in bikinis. He saw nothing special about that until he pictured Akari in one and had to hold his nose to avoid getting blood on his uniform and desk. Akari who had been reading a book of vacation spots noticed. “Oh Kaius are… You okay?” She was still trying to get used to the idea that angels were rather human or at least this one was or maybe it was the air or whatever like Kaius had explained. She was just making it worse as he hunched over.

He had a miserable look on his face and took the napkin he was given and covered his face. “Well when you can talk let me know…” He did not mean to cause her concern but seriously… He wished those boys would get what was coming to them… He was an angel though so he could only hope for so much… Once he got things under control he cleaned himself up and ran a hand through his hair. He looked at Akari who pointed to the beach. “My parents will hardly allow for me to go to a school trip and my aunt will not allow for long trips so want to go to… The… Beach… Kaius are you okay?” Kaius had to look away and rest his head on his desk.
Akari peeked at him and noticed his face was flush. “You are not suffering from heat stroke are you?” At her sudden closeness and touch he sprung to life. “Nope! Not at all. Lets go to the beach! But we need to go home right?!” He said in a way over the top energetic voice before basically running away from her. She gave a confused look but quickly followed as not to be left alone. By the time she reached the house he was gone. She heard the shower running and sighed. Maybe he was running a fever or something and needed a relax? Oh well he picked a good time to need a vacation. Plopping onto her bed after changing into some summer clothes she waited for Kaius to finish.
Once he did she noticed he had followed suit. His fashion had gone up as well especially since his stay had went from what both had assumed was going to be maybe two weeks tops to closer to five months. It gave them time to shop and of course for Kaius to develop some type of a sense of fashion. He kind of just took to it which probably was part of his issue when it came to girls. With Akari being to shy to be forward they assumed he was single and he was hit on a lot. He ignored them or to get a two for one would do something embarrassing to Akari to put her in the limelight. Today was different. He just rested his back against her bed as he sat on the floor.
He read a book and as he found it needed glasses. Akari found it amusing that he had such human qualities despite he was suppose to be this ultimate being. She was glad though because it made it easier to get closer to him. She leaned over the foot of her bed and unknowing to him was reading over his shoulder. It was only when she drifted off and had rested her chin on his shoulder and her cheek rested on his from slumping slightly that he jumped every so much. He was going to complain but noticed she was asleep. He smirked and rolled his eyes. Well it was a good thing he was a good boy and he was just reading something boring. Granted he found it interesting.
Careful not to wake her up and careful not to cause her any trouble like falling off the bed as he moved he shifted so he could tuck her into bed. He went to leave and noticed her mother standing in the doorway with a small smile. “Such a nice man for a tutor. She is not exactly the best student when it comes to learning is she? She knows everything already or so she thinks. Then again my sister probably has killed her spirit. Thank you for caring for her… Do try to ignore my dear husbands glares. He is just protective.” Kaius was surprised but gave a geniunine charming smile this time. “I will keep that in mind and she is a fine student. She is rather amusing actually.”
Rin gave an amused look. “Oh? I can see that being true to a degree. If she knows you anyways. I heard a rumor from a classmate you two are dating. I was curious to if that was true or if they were being spiteful. I know Akari has not had it easy so her classmates are not the most kind.” Kaius was taken off guard and could not come up with something in which Rin laughed into the back of her hand. “Ah so it is true? How cute. Well it is time for her to open up her heart a little. I will be sure to do my best to hold my husband back. You seem like a gentleman. Just try to avoid her jumping you again. I am not sure how many times I can save you from that.” Kaius gave a weak smile. “Well that is appreciated… I would also if it is not to much appreciate some help against your other daughter.”
Rin looked surprised. “Anju? You seemed so happy to meet her. She is harmless, what makes you need protection from her.” Kaius gave a small sigh. “Uh well she seems to like cats and I seem to be her uh… Test subject.” Run covered her mouth with a small badly hidden smile. “Oh dear… Well I can try but Anju is well… Anju. It is nice to have you around. I feel that things are more comical around here and Akari has opened up. Thank you.” Kaius felt a little guilty and wanted to apologize for what he was going to do but that was against the rules. What Rin said next shut him up anyways. “I knew Kami would send an angel but not such a kind one.”
Kaius was stunned as Rin gave a soft wave. “Do exit quickly. My husband will not be happy if he finds his sleeping daughter alone with you. Even if I tell him you were simply tucking her in. Oyuminasai Kaius-Kun if I may call you such.” With a bow she left. Kaius just watched her go. Was she just an overly pious woman or did she know something… He however without taking any more thought on the matter shut the door and left. He did not want Takeshi’s wrath… With a sudden weight on his heart he wondered just what Kami was doing exactly. Angel’s got their wings and went back… There was watching from above sure and some invisible saving but no sticking around…
---
Not much to his surprise most of the vacation was spent studying, playing violin, having Akari’s aunt kidnap her, but there was plenty of actual vacation time where despite his previous reaction he did actually get to see Akari in a bikini which he was able to handle better then he thought. Instead of having a massive he just cooled his head by ducking his head under the ocean and let a wave wash over his head. In the end it was forgotten as they had a splash war, ice cream, and enjoyed the nice weather. It was almost childish but she was able to explain things to him in a nice relaxed setting and for once her family was not kidnapping her or distracting her.
Kaius was not exactly sure when but he had become rather possessive. Despite liking cats better he had actually turned into a dog a few times just to be able to follow Akari where she was dragged off to and when dogs were not allowed into a bird. Hell he would even turn into a cricket and hang on her shoulder or hide in her hair as he was lucky to blend in. He was also lucky she was not afraid of bugs. Of course it also helped to be able to turn into a wasp as her aunt was afraid of them and whenever he could tell Akari was about to just die from her aunt he would change and scare her aunt right out of the area. He would need to stay in some sort of animal or bug form granted until they got home but the fact he could stick around or help made it worth it.
---
After break Kaius was a bit depressed mostly because he had to go back to school but also because he had to go back to sharing Akari. He would never admit it, even to himself. He was in denial and had to be for both of them. It had been a few months and he was glad for the next break which was to celebrate the holiday of Christmas which he knew about as practically everyone celebrated it and it was basically their meaning god and the angel’s holiday. Not that it was treated like that anymore but hey whatever. He was a rebel he was just glad he knew what the hell it was. He noticed packages and got a feeling of déjà vu from Valentines day. He was glad when it continued with him getting a present from Akari and her clearing his desk.
He opened it and found himself staring at a plush toy of himself. He was surprised seeing he figured guys did not exactly get stuffed cats but it looked just like him when he was in cat form and he loved cats. He blushed and put it away. He however caught Akari’s eye as she noticed he was not acting like he did with the chocolates. She was worried he did not like the gift but when he made a paw gesture she snorted unable to help herself. Kaius then gave a mock hiss in which Akari just rolled her eyes and purred. They both stopped when they noticed that they were getting looks and that Sensei slapped a ruler against the table. They however both shared a smile as they began their work.
Kaius now only needed to figure out what to get Akari. He went off by himself wandering around in the snow which he had missed the smell and fell of. Akari noticed him missing but just figured he was enjoying the snow which was half true. He returned and was wet from the snow. When he reached his room he noticed Akari was reading in the hallway and looked up. “Ah there you are!” She said with excitement. He gave a look of surprise. “You… Wanted to see me?” Not sure if she needed him as he had no prayed for him but seemed excited to see him anyways. She noticed he was soaked. “Um… Did you make snow angels?” She then snorted as she noticed how cliché that sounded.
He rolled his eyes. “Yes. Yes I did.” He then shivered slightly. Akari noticed and shooed him. “Change sorry. You must be cold.” He taking the invitation went into his room and changed. She waited until he left before grabbing his arm and bringing him to her room. She propped him up on her bed. She grabbed her tv remote and sat next to him. Kaius just watched her confused. He watched the blank box that normally sat in her room come to life. He stared in shock before pointing at it while grabbing her. “What the hell!” She gave an amused look. “Do not tell me you forgot what a tv looks like or is for that manner.”
He shook his head. “Hell no but why is it so big! I had one and it was like sixteen times smaller! What the hell!” She sighed, “Okay pretend it is smaller and for an angel you use hell a lot.” Noticing he hit a sore spot he let her go. “Oh uh never mind… Oh as for the hell thing yeah I say it a lot and it gets me in a hell of a lot of trouble.” He said smirking at her earning him a smack. She however had a smile. They then went to watch Christmas shows but then the power went out. She went to grab the remote but there was an eerie silence before Kaius spoke. “Just what do you think you are grabbing?” Akari gave a weak, “The remote…” Kaius gave a snort, “Well that is the first time I have heard it called that.”
Akari let go and screamed. Nearly falling off the bed Kaius caught her. “Oh relax just pretend you grabbed my foot or something. Anyways how are we going to bring the power back?” Akari getting back on the bed glared at Kaius for the remark before getting the situation of black out into her head. “Oh this is bad… My parents are probably snowed in at work. Anju is staying at a friend’s house again knowing I have you to hang out with and and and… I have no idea how to fix things in a black out!” She said panicking. Kaius gave her a small smack on the head. “Relax I am sure it is not rocket science.” Calming slightly she clung to Kaius. He noticed and rose a brow.
“You… You by chance are not afraid of the dark are you?” Not wanting to be made fun of tried to put up a brave front. “No! I just do not want you sneaking off and scaring me!” Kaius smirked, “Oh so that is why I never have seen you without a light off… Makes perfect sense now.” She gripped his arm harder. “Okay fine I am petrified of the dark! Just do something!” Figuring there was no use defending herself and she was freaking out. She was surprised when she felt herself being put in a soft hug despite clinging to an arm. “Fine I will try and do something but I need my arm free.” She frowned and switched to his waist which got a sigh but he did not complain. The two of them got up and went searching.
There was no box or any type of emergency switch and at this point it was getting cold from the heat being off. “Okay I give up and before you say anything no I cannot click my heels and make this go away.” Akari frowned. “Okay fine just find my room again… Maybe we can sleep through it.” Kaius eyed her amused. “What do you mean we?” Akari pinched his hip. “I swear do not do anything or I will cry.” Her voice wavered to prove it and he patted her head. “Alright alright. Relax.” Taking her back to her room he was going to turn into a cat but she gave a loud startling “NO!” He nearly fell over. “What the hell?!” He said in which she gave a small. “A cat is not enough… Anju used to help me through these things…”
Getting what she was getting out he gave her a look though he doubted she could see and if she could she did not care. “If your parents come home and fix things they will kill me.” At her whimper he sighed, “Alright alright shush just let me go long enough to actually get comfortable?” She allowed him to do that much but once she felt him crease moving as he was comfortable she dove into him and clutched him as if her life depended on it. He sighed who knew she was this afraid of the dark. He petted her head and played with her hair trying to think of things people do to help other people calm down. He was not much of a talker.
After a little while he noticed her grip go from obsessive to just clingy. He guessed she fell asleep but did not dare move, both due to her waking up and because it would be cruel. He had left her to deal with her parents when he was sick and in her bed. He could work things out as far as he knew he had some sort of an ally in her mother. Maybe she would not stick up for him but at least it would be one less person voting to kick him out or beating him up. With that he found himself looking out the window. Despite this being such a rich place this was not the only house without power. Perhaps that was the downfall. The snow did look very pretty though and with that he fell asleep.

“Ehhhh! Get up!” Opening up his eyes slowly he noticed Takeshi standing over him. Rin was behind him with a worried look. Both looked haggard from lack of sleep. Probably from sleeping at the office. Rin however gingerly grabbed her husbands arm. “Take-Koshi… The power was out all over last night you know how Akari is… She probably begged him to… Seeing Anju was not here… Please be kind. He helped her through a night that probably would have been so rough on her.” Takeshi looked at his daughter for a moment before Kaius, both were dressed, neither looked disheveled well besides his clinging obviously frightened daughter but… “Fine… Thank you Kaius-San.” With that he left. Kaius gave a sigh. “Thank you Rin-Sama…”
Rin giggled into the back of her hand. “I was just speaking the truth. She is so bad in the dark. Probably due to the weekend at my sisters I forever regret… She was locked in a closet for a weekend… She has never liked the dark since. Anyways when she wakes up please tell her not to worry.” She gave another gentle wave and left. Now that he did not need to worry about being killed in his sleep or in general and gave Akari a general shake. She woke up and noticed the natural light was filtering into her room. She relaxed her grip on Kaius but winced. With a sigh he ran a hand down her arms. “Teach you to sleep with your muscles clenched… Idiot.”
At the sound of people down stairs Kaius felt himself being pushed out of the bed. “Get out before my parents see you!” Kaius poked his head over the side of the bed and rested his arm on it. Resting his cheek on his arm he glared at her. “For your information sleeping beauty while you clung to me like a koala they already spotted me. Your mom helped me out and your dad left me alone. Try to wake up so you can get this information before pushing me off such a high bed… It hurts.” Grimincing at what she did she leaned forward and gave his forehead a small kiss. “Sorry…” She blushed and to get rid of the embarrassment she felt said, “I know you landed on your ass but good luck getting me to kiss that.”
Kaius who was surprised took that opportunity to get rid of his own embarrassment smirked, “After all that I deserve it but whatever. Oh and here. The whole push and shove will not work this time.” Confused and slightly frightened by his words she waited as he went to his room. He came back and handed her a box. She was surprised but opened it and gave a larger look of surprise. It was a necklace with a delicate musical note on it. She then looked up at him trying to hide her blush. “What did you do rob a place. You keep getting things but you have no money.” He smirked and bent forward so he was an inch from kissing her. “Ah well, wish a wish upon a star.” He then gave a ginger snap of his teeth before pulling away.
She just stared at him flustered before he stretched. “Anyways up for a snowball fight. Maybe if my good ole magic did not work it can stretch those muscles that need fixing.” She smiled. “Is that a challenge angel?” He grinned, “Yes it is and the loser needs to make a snow one.” Akari stood up and grabbed winter gear. “You are on and about to get something involving your ass, your ass handed to you!” He just laughed as he went to get ready himself letting off one last retort, “Bring it on.” After the two of them were geared up and ready to go they were out back to avoid people seeing them. They both had their side of the yard and was ready to go.
He was quicker then she figured but he had long legs. So she began trying to throw faster but it was no use. She was able to clip him a few times but he got her a few more times for every almost clipping she made. She was soaked and he was slightly wet but it was from picking up snow balls rather then being hit by them. After finally three hours she took what was left of her energy just to tackle him into a snow bank. He looked up at her with a blank expression now feeling the wet soaked feeling he felt last night and what he guessed she felt. “And that was for?” He asked sarcastically knowing exactly what it was for. She just gave a happy smile. “Revenge.” He smirked. “You know how well revenge goes for angels.” After wresling around in the snow they both sat up.
Both were panting and completely soaked with snow crystals forming. After a moment not that she was admitting defeat she began making a snow angel. Seeing what she was doing he snorted before falling back beside her and making one himself. What type of angel would he be if he did not honor the snow with an angel? After they finished there was a tiny little angel next to a larger one and with a snort from Kaius he saw her take her finger and add halos. She gave a tiny smile before shivering. “Okay time to go inside. No sick on winter break!” She grabbed his hand before running inside making sure to avoid making the house to wet. Kaius took a bath in his room while Akari took a bath in hers. Technically it was an epic waste of water but being rich made it so despite it being frowned upon it was fine plus her parents would frown more if they shared a bath.

What!” Akari said trying not to cry. Her aunt continued, “I told you to prepare… Tsk. I told you about the New Year concert… I cannot believe you did nothing while I tried to teach you… If you ruin my name I will not be pleased…” She then left in a huff leaving Akari to basically want to cry. She however instead of curling up in a ball like she used to just stared at her violin. She had grown a little not that she noticed she still had that feeling or no self worth. Kaius appeared at hearing the chaos cool. “What is going on?” Normally his sudden appearance would have shocked her but she was to sullen. “My aunt is angry at me for not being ready for the concert she got ready for me and has been preping me for and the concert is tomorrow…”
Kaius crossed his arms. “So you are going to sulk your time to practice and maybe actually pull this off?” She looked up at him with confusion. “Do not look at me with that sad look. Come on. Pick up your violin and come on.” She picked up her violin and was confused she felt an arm around her waist and found herself in a park. The people noticed her and Kaius was next to her with his arms crossed. A little boy who seemed excited chimed up. “Mama! Mama! I think that Onee-San is going to play!” Akari glared at Kaius. “What the hell!” She hid behind her violin. Kaius smirked. He went over to the boy. “Hey Onee-Chan is shy, why not cheer her on?” The boy looked at the fact that Akari indeed looked like she was shy.
Especially now that Kaius was no longer near her making it worse. The little boy standing on the bench bounced. “Okay Onii-San! You can do it Onee-San! Play please! I want to here and so does my mama! Right mama!” The woman who overheard gave a small smile. “Of course dear.” Akari gave a shy look but swallowed the lump and focused on the boy, his mother, and Kaius. She soon found herself lost in the music again. When she opened her eyes she noticed that a crowed had gathered. Not to mention that a few of the goofier couples out for dates were dancing. Akari blushed as Kaius crossed his arms and leaned against the bench. “Well? Why did you stop keep playing.”
Akari after a moment gave a more confident nod. She started playing again. Kaius smirked, “She is going to have a concert if you are interested in seeing her all dolled up and feel like cheering her on again.” the boy’s eyes lit up. “Mama can we?!” The woman giggled. “Sure. Thank you stranger-san I am sure your girlfriend is lucky to have such a supportive boyfriend.” Kaius just gave his fake cheery smile. It would be wrong to deny it but at the same time wrong to agree. With a kind wave he walked over to Akari who seemed to be more confident. She hugged Kaius careful of her violin.
“Oh my god my heart feels like it is going to explode but thank you!” He snorted. “That is the point I think but see. Instead of practicing alone or in front of one person try a bigger crowd so it is not such a shock. Oh and remember… As corny as it is seeing I cannot be with you on stage think of my necklace as a piece of me or whatever. Just like picturing your audience in their underwear. Whatever helps.” With a little more confidence she nodded and let Kaius go. The two of them went to a place they came from and returned to Akari’s house. “Okay go to sleep and get ready. You are going to prove to your aunt you are not anything she says got it? Good.” He smirked before patting her head and leaving her to put her violin away.
She rubbed her head where he patted and sighed. “You are leaving… I know it… I almost want to fail…” She muttered to herself but she knew she could not do that. Kaius needed his wings and it would be selfish to him if she failed on purpose. Who was to say he would get to stay if she failed even if it was not on purpose. So she would need to make sure she did her best. With new found determination she hoped would last she changed into her sleeping clothes. She fell asleep rather quickly after coming down from her adrenline rush. She dreamed of all the fun she had with Kaius and unknownly hugged her pillow in her sleep but gave a tiny moan of his name knowing it was not him.
---
It was the day of the concert and like Kaius had told the boy Akari was dolled up. Her long black hair was curled instead of being the normal straight. It was put in a loose but very elegant bun with gems that looked like snow which in it and matched her glittering black dress. She had some make up on but it was nothing to extreme as not to ruin her skin. With that her matching heels took her shaking legs onto the stage. She never was able to picture people in the audience in their underwear but she did notice her family in the crowd which was less strangers. She also noticed some of the people from the park, especially the energetic boy. She gave a tiny smile.
After a moment she got her cue. She gave a last look at her aunt who was glaring. She knew her aunt expected her to fail but she had no plans on it. She felt the cool necklace and bracelet on her skin and pretended it was Kaius helping her move the bow while hugging her neck. Once she was done with her numbers she gave bows as she noticed she was appreciated as her mother and as rudely as her aunt had said. She gave a shy smile before stepping off stage. She bumped into someone and went to apologize but noticed it was Kaius. “Heh told you it was not that hard.” She smiled and went to hug him but he stopped her. “Tsk tsk.” She gave a confused look.
“People are watching? Not to mention I… I have to leave soon… So I figure any actual acts of affection will make it difficult… You are more confident. You will more on in life. I did my job and what you cannot see is complete proof of that even though you will probably deny it.” He noticed she looked like she was about to cry. “Oh come on now do not cry on me. You know I such at that stuff. You still have your sister. Just pretend you never met me okay?” With one last pat to her head he gave a soft, “Good job Kari-Hime” To her ear before leaving her to cry. Her family who met her took her tears as happy ones but her mother noticed they were different.
She held her daughter and for once shooed her sister and husband away. She led her daughter home and in silence she finally smiled. “Are you sad because your dear tutor was missing?” At her daughter breaking into sobs again her mother smiled. “I thought so. I also figured he would have to leave… Hmm…” She stroked her daughters hair. “Darling. Think of it this way he will be there for you when you least think of it…” Akari looked up at her mother. “What do you mean by that?” Her mother gave a knowing look. “Angels come in all shapes and sizes. I know yours is special. You will be blessed for years to come.” Akari gave her mother a teary look of surprise. “Mom…” She would guess her mother was being like she used to and falling into old Shinto habits but… There was to much her mother was saying to be just her mother….
She did not say anything just in case however. Reaching home she noticed they made it before the rest of the family or maybe they purposely were giving her time… Reaching her house she felt a sense of ultimate sadness. So watch if she was so called confident now… Looking around she decided she was going to kill herself so she would be able to at least be able to see Kaius again. She went to slash her wrists but she was surprised when someone firmly grabbed her other wrist. “Tsk tsk now I thought it was said that those who took this way out turn into ghosts and never rest or go to hell or something. You would never see me. At least if you died normally you could see me and while you lived let me pretect you.” She looked up to see Kaius with a dark expression
She dropped the knife but started to cry. “I cannot live without you though. You and Anju are all I have next to my parents and I miss you…” He sighed. “This is why they typically do not allow angels to stick around this long. Humans get attached to easily…” Akari looked up at him with a pathetic look on her face. “So you do not care anymore now that you have your wings?” Kaius smirked, “I would say yes but then I would be lying. Why else would I rush over here to stop Stupid-San from killing herself?” At her breaking down at he gave a worried look. “O-oi… Remember I am bad at this stuff… Do not cry.” That made her cry harder.
“The last time you said that you left… Do not leave!” She gripped the wrist that was holding hers despite having dropping the knife. She continued to cry and he after a moment sighed. He wiggled free and noticed her crying got both worse and filled with sobs. “Oi I said to stop crying.” He placed her in a hug. She did immediately at the shock of the gesture. “The order is not exactly happy but I asked them to strip me of my wings until I finish something. My senior was confused at first but I think he understands. So… I am no longer your Tenshi-- But before you start the water works I can be your Kuro Ouji.” She looked up at him in shock. “Do you mean…” He smirked.
“That I am here to bug you then yes. Sorry.” At him being weakly hit from her being so tired from crying she sat up slightly, “No you baka I mean did you lose your angel status because of me!” With a smug grin he pushed her back into a hug. “Well technically like I said I am not an angel but I still have my powers.” With that she flailed, “Baka baka baka baka!!! You sold your soul to the devil!” Kaius sweat dropped. “You have no faith in me… I mean I am on suspension. I am technically a human. I will age like one and when the time comes die like one all over again but because my senior is actually a good guy he is letting me keep my voodoo powers. Oh and when we do go to that big place that is the best… Well.”
He paused with a smirked. “We will look like this just so you are not shocked. Before you ask I am not telling you how old I was when I died… I will say I was not out of your age range so I am not a pervert. Eh well I guess within reason…” He said before giving her backside a squeeze getting him a smack. “There we go Kari-Hime is back.” He said with a laugh. He then gave her a gentle snuggle. “So do not cry anymore.” She gave a small nod. She gave a surprised look when she felt him shift and lift her chin make it so all those false teasing gestures were something of the past. With a soft kiss he gave a grin. “And with that it is sealed with a kiss.” At hearing her giving a more characteristic sigh he smiled. Akari was back.

It had been a few years since that emotional concert. Luckily for Akari her mother had with open arms allowed for Kaius to return. Her father was less excited but Kaius had grown on him so he allowed him to stay. As for her aunt… Well she took all the credit and hated Kaius with a passion. Especially after all the successful concerns Akari had done only to have to put so many on hold. Her parents were happy and Anju as emotionless as she was showed some happiness. After going to music college and Kaius applying to work for her father having a baby on the way was hardly causing any real problems for anyone besides for her aunt who thought only for herself. No one paid her any mind and Akari’s fans were supportive. Understanding her absence… To say things did not changed would be a bold lie…
I wanted my life to change so much. So much I guess I probably would have curled up in a ball and died but someone was watching over me and look at me now. Funny how things work. Granted typically this is not how things work… I really doubt most guardian angels will put their angel status on hold after falling for their station and will wait until their station is able to also become an angel. Well like I said I wanted my life to change and here I am surrounded by my family, with a modest amount of confidence, with a good life, a baby on the way, and married to someone I love dearly. I guess I could say I got everything I wished for in the beginning… Miracles may not be real and fairytales are what are told to children but this is my miracle and fairytale and you are bound to get yours just wait…”

OMAKE
“Push!” With an almost demonic voice the once shy and docile woman growled back, “I AM!” She was not having fun with this at all…She knew it was not suppose to be a walk in the park but she had been over two weeks late and suddenly in a fury of motion everything had happened and then things were slow and here she was pushing and breathing and pushing again. She was so tempted to kick the doctor who kept telling her to push but she knew that was bad. She needed to follow what he said… She gave a final push and was glad for it because it was over finally. She rested against the bed and Kaius who was smart enough to keep silent nursed his hand. She smiled when she was given a pink pile of blankets and despite all the pain among all of them a tiny baby was there.
The doctor who was cleaning up smiled, “She is healthy. Any name ideas?” Kaius was silent. He was bad with names and he supposed that after all those baby books and websites and bickering with family he was happy to avoid that she had a name. He gave a tiny smirk when he heard her softly say, “Tenshi…” The doctor gave a surprised look but then smiled. Most did not go for such a direct approach but it was an interesting name. He and the nurses then left to give the couple and their newborn baby some time. Kaius getting the clear peeked at the baby who peeked at him. She looked like her mother which was no surprise. She then fell asleep.
With a snort he shook his head. He was surprised when he felt soft lips kiss his hand. “Sorry. Thank you though.” Kaius just smiled, “No probably Kari-Hime.” She giggled. “Kai-Ouji you are to cute.” She supposed they despite being married a few years had yet to lose that new marriedness that made others want to puke but it could not be helped. She giggled at getting a kiss on the cheek and then turned so she could receive a kiss on the lips. She then snuggled into the bed allowing a nurse to take the baby to put into the nursery. She was tired and she figured so was Kaius she was going to say he could go home but he just with a playful smile gingerly pushed her over and laid next to her hugging her tightly to him. “If anyone complains just growl at them.” With a giggle she fell asleep gripping him gently.
